# CLI Import beta

## From clicks to commits

Starting with version 5.4.1, `npx checkly import` generates code files for existing UI-created resources: checks, groups, alert channels, dashboards, and status pages, placed directly in your checks directory as specified in your `checkly.config` file. Choose to import everything in one go or manually select resources; a `checkly.config` file is created for you if you do not have one.

## Review before you commit

Review the generated code before finalizing. For larger imports you can exit the flow, review, and pick up where you left off with `npx checkly import apply`, then finalize by committing your changes. CLI Import is available in beta to all customers.
