# What's new in December 2025

Published Dec 4, 2025

## DNS monitors are here

DNS monitors are now available on all plans. They track DNS resolution and lookup times, so you can spot misconfigurations, expired records, or resolver latency issues before your customers notice.

## Error Groups for Test Sessions

All errors that happened during Test Sessions now show up in the new Error Groups tab. They work the same way as Error Groups for scheduled checks and monitors, with added dimensions for project and environment properties populated by the Checkly CLI. Available on all plans at no extra charge; if you run the Checkly Agent on Private Locations, make sure you are on version 6.1.5 or later.

## Playwright Reporter (Beta)

The new Playwright Reporter keeps track of your Playwright tests wherever they run: locally, in CI/CD, or as monitors in Playwright Check Suites. It gives you a central view of all test runs across environments, clearer insight into flaky, slow, and failing tests, and quick access to debugging assets like videos, traces, and snapshots. Enable it by adding it to your `playwright.config.ts` and running `npx playwright test`.

## Playwright Check Suites updates

The Check Overview page has a new graph breaking down individual test case statuses. Terraform supports Playwright Check Suites from provider v1.17.0, and Private Locations support test performance and availability metrics from agent v6.1.5. A new `CHECKLY` environment variable (set to `1` for scheduled runs) lets you adjust retries, traces, or workers in `playwright.config.ts` for scheduled runs, with `CHECKLY_RUN_SOURCE` for behavior per run type; `CI=1` is set when running `npx checkly test`, `trigger`, or `pw-test`.
