# What's new in October 2025

Published Oct 9, 2025

## Fresh Check Overview with Error Groups

The check overview page has been redesigned to get you to what matters faster, and introduces Error Groups (beta), which show which errors occurred over time, how often, and in which locations. The update also brings quicker filters for date, status, and retries, an easier-to-scan list of alerts, and an updated locations list for scanning performance by location.

## TCP dumps and traceroute reports

API checks that fail due to network errors now include TCP dumps, downloadable as a `.pcap` file for tools like Wireshark, and traceroute reports that trace the full path of your request, including latency and packet loss at each hop.

## Meet pw-test: Playwright tests, now in Checkly

The new `npx checkly pw-test` command runs Playwright tests with Checkly monitoring features and reuses the Playwright CLI arguments, supporting both Checkly and Playwright flags. It automatically records test sessions without requiring the `--record` flag, and can create Playwright Check Suites from your local repository with `--create-check`.

```
npx checkly pw-test {checkly flags} -- {playwright flags}
```

## Check session trigger API

You can now programmatically run checks on demand, equivalent to clicking Schedule now in the UI. Use `POST /v1/check-sessions/trigger` to start an ad-hoc session for all activated checks matching your filters, `GET /v1/check-sessions/{checkSessionId}` to retrieve status and results, and `GET /v1/check-sessions/{checkSessionId}/completion` to wait for final results.
